Soulja Boy’s big PR problem (Kat Stacks strikes again!)

by Amani Channel

I don’t think that Soulja Boy’s publicist is getting much sleep at the moment. The gossip and entertainment blogs are having a field day with the video that rap groupie Kat Stacks made at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead.

She not only claims that the rapper has a substance abuse problem, she gives a quick tour of the hotel room and shows what appears to be lines of a white powdery substance.

I won’t go all into it, but Stacks is a vulgar young lady who’s made a name for herself by bragging about her sexual exploits with rappers.

IF what’s in the video is true, Soulja Boy is going to have to go on the defense, and quickly to help salvage the damage.

Although I’m not really a fan, it’s a shame that anyone’s career could be destroyed by an act of stupidity.

Soulja Boy built his career off of Internet videos and now this one video could be his undoing.

If I were advising him how to manage the situation, he needs to create a Web video message today, to counter Kat Stack’s damaging allegations (Soulja Boy sent a Tweet denying the allegations).

Since it is possible that the video is true Soulja should, 1) apologize to all of his fans about his decision to associate himself with Stacks; 2) recognize and admit that he has a substance abuse problem, and seek treatment immediately, and 3) find a non-profit to work with and develop a partnership to talk to kids about the dangers of drugs, and having sex with fame hungry groupies.

Soulja Boy made a promise in 2008 to be a positive role model, and there’s nothing exemplary about his “relationship” with Stacks, or the image that is now in the minds of many of his fans.

Fans of the Goodie MOB will be excited to know that the group is planning a reunion concert in September in the A.

Below is a portion of the press release about the upcoming event.

ATLANTA, GA – Shameless Plug Promotions today announced a one-night only Goodie Mob reunion performance at the Masquerade in Atlanta on Saturday September 19, 2009. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Tickets for ‘Remember Atlanta’ go on sale Saturday, August 1st through Ticketmaster.

The highly anticipated show is expected to be the highlight of the hip hop community’s concert events this year and will feature other members of the Dungeon family.

“This show means a lot to the people of Atlanta,” said Jabari Graham, one-fourth of the do-no-wrong new events group, Shameless Plug Promotions. “I grew up in Atlanta back when Dungeon and La Face were doing their thing. We knew this reunion show has been in the works for years, so to be a part of making this concert happen is just remarkable for us. For so long, Atlanta has been labeled as swag or crunk, so a lot of acts may feel they shouldn’t make a stop here. We know ATL is more than that and we’re out to prove it.”

The Goodie MO-B helped put the A on the map. Hope they perform all their classics.

Looks like Soulja Boy is trying to clean up his image. Atlanta entertainment blogger Gyant has the inside scoop, and the AP even produced a public service announcement about the popular hip-pop artist.

I didn’t know the AP cared. Who’s his publicist?

I just ran across a great interview segment with IllDoctine’s Jay Smooth.

He is truly an intelligent voice in Hip-Hop. His videos are on point, and he always has something to say about politics and the media.

The video below was taped in the Yay (Bay) Area, my home soils where Smooth was receiving an award for his vlog.

Check it out.
