It seems my former station WTVT-TV has had some issues during its live call in show, “Your Turn.”

TheFeed explains that Fox 13 put the brakes on live calls after some caller apparently had some nasty things to say about Mr. Obama.

Below is a blooper from a different show that was hosted by Charlie Belcher.

This is what happens when a producer and reporter have a breakdown in communication. A news friend forwarded My Urban Report the following video, and message:

“Call this a tease gone bad!!

The reporter in this video, Stephanie (Newschannel 4 in Kansas City), had been at the station several months when asked to do a live news tease for her story.

It was a story about special parking spaces for pregnant women at a local grocery chain.

She said, “How do I do that?”

So her producer said, “You know… you give the viewer just enough of the story to make him want to stay tuned and learn more about it.”

Stephanie still didn’t understand. So her producer explained it this way, “It’s like putting a carrot in front of a horse. You LEAD the
viewer into your story.”

Stephanie said, “Ooooooh. I get it.”

And that was the last exchange, until it was time…”
